It’s time to close out August for the year. The other evening, we sat on the new deck (see On Deck and The Deck’s Finished) and enjoyed the view, featuring a rainbow against the Coast Range across Lynn Canal.

I’m home alone off and on for the next week or so. Aly’s offering adult support to a young friend in town while her parents are traveling. She and Michelle are staying with the friend in town a few nights a week, as it helps them get to work early on the days they need to do that.
With August ending, and September upon us, I spend most of my time and effort bringing in more firewood for the coming winter.
