“Dream Time” Fulfilled

Back in January, I wrote about “Dream Time,” when we made plans for the more active time of the year. We progressed significantly in making some of the dreams a reality, particularly getting the old wood stove moved to the beach.

We moved the old wood stove from the guest house to the beach below the garden. Michelle cobbled together the chimney, including making the topper. We now have a very handy heater for laundry water that also cooks crab and other lunches. We fuel it with the dried slash that has accumulated on the beach, helping get rid of those unsightly piles while providing good heat energy.

In addition, we rebuilt our fire ring, this time without the stone oven, so if the coming winter’s storms batter it apart, it’ll take very little effort to set it to right.

By the way, today is International Talk Like a Pirate Day! If you need help participating, look here for advice and encouragement.
