Aly’s Home!

Aly come home! I managed to go down to Juneau to greet her, thanks to a friend who needed two vehicles taken back there on the ferry. We had a pleasant cruise home Tuesday, and now the family is back together. All is right with the world. Even the cat is happy.

It’s Midsummer’s Day, we’re cooking Aly’s favorite homestead meals, and I just heard that a friend on the bay has found my jacket and cap! We’re busy, and power’s low. I’ll no doubt sort all this out here on the blog in the next week or so.

Great news! Glad Ali made it home safely. I leave Sunday for my Alaska cruise and am starting to get really excited.

Jessie, I think you told me, but I forget. Will your cruise visit Haines or Skagway?

I found your blog a couple of months ago (how glad I am) and check in every day or so to see what is going on with the homestead. I probably will never do what you folks are doing, but I sure have enjoyed reading all about your adventures. How nice that your girl is home! My husband and I have one daughter as well, and, although she is only ten, we hope she is a lot like Aly when she goes off to college. Glad you are all back together for the summer!

Thanks, Tara! There’s a Wailing Jenny’s song, Heaven When Your Home. That’s been our theme song these last few days!

I’m back from our cruise. No we did not visit Skagway or Haines. Juneau, Sitka and Ketchikan were our Alaskan stops.
