Seven Years Good Luck

Seven years ago today, we moved to the “homestead.” At the time, we promised ourselves to give it five years, then re-evaluate. After the first year, no one mentioned re-evaluation again.

We couldn’t ask for a better day to recognize the anniversary, as our weather continues to be sunny and hot.

The day falls in the middle of a string of celebrations: Michelle’s birthday, our wedding anniversary, and, this year, Aly comes home on the 13th. Tonight we have a dinner date with friends, unrelated to the anniversary. But, perhaps remembering it unceremoniously is more appropriate to commemorating a major milestone in trying to live a simpler life?

Triple Congratulations! Birthday, Wedding & Homestead. In 2011 Woody and I bought our place in Mexico with the same 5 year plan. If it doesn’t feel like an adventure anymore, then we will move on. Wonder what places the future will take us or if we’ll just be happy with the simple life south of the border?

Hi Gail, I hope your adventure lasts long enough for us to find our way down there to share it with you for a bit. Can’t wait to see you later this month here on the homestead!
