Local Author Roundtable for Alaska Book Week

October 4–11 is Alaska Book Week. Our local library (see The Haines Public Library: Community Center, Cultural Hub, Haven) will host an author’s roundtable Monday evening, October 6th. I’ve been invited to join, and if the gods of technology are good to me, I’ll participate via videoconference connection! See where it says “Heather Lende, Bob Adkins, Dan Henry, and more”? More. That would be me. I’m “more”. “More” also means Kathleen Menke, Judy Hall Jacobson, and Rosalie Loewen, at least, maybe others.

I’m pretty excited about this.

Last year on this week, the library featured books by local authors in the lobby display case. I went to the stacks, grabbed the library’s copy of my book, Shy Ghosts Dancing: Dark Tales from Southeast Alaska, gave it to my friend behind the desk, and asked him to put it in the case with the other authors’ work. That was on the last day of the week. This year, I have a place at the round table. Or, at least a video monitor with me on it does . . . .

If you’re in Haines, please come to the event, it should be fun!

To promote the roundtable, I’ll leave this post as the current one until October 7th. At that point, I hope to tell you how it went.
