Decorating for Christmas on Saint Nicholas Day

I’m late and brief posting for the blog today, because Michelle and I are lighting the cabin and putting up our Christmas tree!

This activity may make which ever day it falls on the most nostalgic day of the year. So, since today is also Saint Nicholas Day (see Saint Nicholas Day, December 6th) I thought of a gift we made for family five years ago, a Zeiger Family Homestead version of Clement Clarke Moore’s A Visit From Saint Nicholas. We all collaborated on the text, and Aly illustrated it. If I had to chose a favorite illustration, this might be it.

Now, back to work! The homemade wine’s just about mulled, the Christmas music is on the stereo, and it’s getting dark.
