Fair Weather

By , August 1, 2014

We enjoyed a dramatic display of morning mist on the Coast Range across Lynn Canal from us recently. It appears to be the wet weather’s farewell for the time being, as by that evening, skies had mostly cleared. Fair weather is forecast for the annual Southeast Alaska State Fair which began yesterday and runs through the coming weekend. We’ll be sure to slather on the sunscreen before we hike out to attend.

Aly entered two photos in the Fair this year. She submitted some nature shots she took in Ireland earlier this year. I’d thought about entering some of my photos, and maybe some of our homemade wine, but getting Aly’s submissions in on time proved deadline enough for all of us. Maybe next year?

A Fair Summer Evening

By , July 19, 2012

This is last night’s prospect from the homestead. We’re getting some warm, dry weather lately, so I haven’t had much time to blog. Things continue to happen, though. I’ll try to have some stories for you soon. In the meantime, enjoy the view!
