Our friend, Harry James, borrowed a truck and trailer. Working with David and George Jackson, a neighbor from down the street, we jacked up the boat and loaded it on the trailer in a mere seven hours! In the evening we took Selkie to Auke Bay harbor and launched her.You can find additional photos of the launch at Fritz Funk's great Web page here.

It was a smooth launch, but not without its moments of anxiety.

Dave and Anke towed us to the loading dock with their Bolger Nymph.

Burgers for dinner before rigging. Fritz's son, Joe, is next to the hatchway.

Dave and I set up the rigging, and the whole family sailed to a nearby beach, called Auke Rec. We anchored there overnight, the three Juneau Zeigers slept aboard, and the next day we christened Selkie officially.
